Fall Festival
Fishfest is a fun June day spent at Bob Kast Pond on RT 220 in Dushore. There is a small fee for the whole family to participate with kids aged 5 to 14. Prizes are awarded for the most fish and the biggest fish caught in five different age groups. Food is available, music is provided, and the pond is stocked with a variety of fish, including: bass, perch, bluegill and catfish.
There are also other things to do in downtown Dushore on Fishfest day! Vendors are set up selling everything from home-baked goods to birdhouses. There is a fishing presentation for all ages given by a former member of the Fish Commission, a fish scavenger hunt in participating businesses, and the Sullivan County Library hosts a kid friendly event, such as a magician or story-time and a craft.
The day comes to a close with the ever popular annual Dairy Parade. The parade has a yearly theme for the walking units and floats. The parade concludes with a free giant sundae, cow milking contest, and the crowning of the Dairy Princess.
